The Simplecom SE640 supports NVMe M.2 SSDs in 2280 form factor only. SATA M.2 SSDs are not supported. PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs are recommended to utilise the full 40Gbps USB4 bandwidth.
Will the SE640 work with older USB versions?
Yes. The SE640 is fully backward compatible with USB 3.0, USB 3.1, and USB 3.2 interfaces, operating at 5Gbps or 10Gbps respectively. It also supports Thunderbolt 3 and 4 connections.
Can I use this enclosure on Mac?
